Lucio, Simon, Louis, Barry, Guy and Armand sat on one side of the long table in the guard room while Omar and his wife, Ruth, sat across from them. Montague was semi-officiating at the head of the table.

“It is my intention to offer my hand in friendship to the members of the Council and their families,” Omar was saying. “I have the highest regard for your loyalty and trusting relationship with my grandfather. Loyalty is a most admirable quality in men… and women.” He glanced at his wife. “In the New Order of the Temple all men and women are equal. All religions are acceptable as long as they recognize the sovereignty of God, the Creator, and live within the parameters of the Laws of Moses… the Original Laws, the Ten. Any laws added unto these have I stricken from the land and all humanity lives under the Law of the New Order. We need no other laws, gentlemen. We need no other sovereignty on earth other than a complete and total surrender to what is written in our hearts. The Law of God. The Law of Love. Do not kill. Do not steal. Do not covet. You know these laws, my friends. They are simple truths. I represent these laws to one and all.”

“Therefore, we have no real quarrel. There is no need to sequester yourselves on these islands. You are free to return to Scotland or London or Italy or wherever you wish. Free to go about your business. You will find the world a much better place now for yourselves as well as your families… your children. There is less crime, less greed and no wars to be fought. Mankind has joined hands in a common purpose… to serve God for the betterment of the human race. There are no dictatorships, no tyrants, no suppression or oppression of men or women. No slavery and we are in the process of redistributing the wealth of the world to reduce poverty, to expand man’s education to the edification of God. Everyone will have what they need and much of what they want. Everyone has the opportunity to be the very best that they can be and to achieve the best use of their God-given talents and blessings to glorify God and to exalt themselves to the divine purpose for which they were made. Self-edification is a thing of the past, men are truly brothers now. The healthy care for the sick. The rich care for the poor. Criminals are quickly detected and punishment is swift and sure. There is nothing to fight about anymore. The world has united with one purpose, one goal: The survival and improvement of the race of men upon the face of the earth.

“Our laws are simple. Ten rules. Ten laws laid down by the Creator himself. And you. You are the chosen ones. You have been preserved for this time when you can present God’s laws to the world as Moses presented them to the children of Israel.
